Based on the Ice Ih Icosahedron sculpture - Birch Ply Layers, Stain, Paint. - 50 x 45cm
Three layers of wood follow a snow crystallization pattern based on the one created for theIce Ih Icosahedron Sculpture. The hexagonal formation of snowflakes is due to the molecular properties of water and its exposure to very specific humidity, pressure and temperature parameters. The awe inspiring structures created by falling crystalline water often present infinitely delicate six-fold symmetry.
The layers are 3mm thick and mounted on 9mm matte deep black stained birch plywood. The back of the board has a cut-in mounting slot to display on wall.
These are available in a limited run, numbered from 1 to 20. 20 is not a random number. It is actually the number of sides that an Icosahedron is built out of.
